Amendment 67 makes a statement on life

Posted by on Oct 14, 2014 in WHAT'S NEW | 0 comments

The Reporter-Herald published Dave Barkey’s letter about the Brady Amendment: Colorado voters have the opportunity to declare where they stand on the question of the sanctity of life. Amendment 67 included in our state Constitution would bring the document into the 21st century to acknowledge the clear evidence provided by ultrasound and intra-uterine surgical interventions that the occupant of the uterus is indeed a human person deserving of the rights and protections enjoyed by all living human beings. The language of the proposed...

Heather Surovik Needed in All Fifty States

Heather Surovik Needed in All Fifty States

George Rasley, editor of Conservative HQ, writes an excellent piece entitled “Heather Surovik Needed in All Fifty States”.  I love the title. Throughout the country, there are examples of women like Ms. Surovik who have tragically lost their unborn babies to violent criminal acts. Some states, such as Texas and Washington, recognize unborn babies as victims and level homicide charges against the perpetrators. Other states, such as New Hampshire and Colorado, are blind to babies senselessly killed by criminals. Mr. Rasley quotes Ms. Surovik:...

Heather’s Mission

Heather’s Mission

I need your help.   On July 5, 2012, I was eight months pregnant when a repeat drunk driver slammed into my car. Although my mother and I survived, my unborn son Brady did not. Because Colorado does not recognize Brady as a person, there was no prosecution for his tragic death. Brady was eight pounds, two ounces. When I tried to change our state laws to protect babies like Brady in January, abortion advocates and their allies at the capitol testified that I had merely “lost a pregnancy” and shot down a bill that would have brought...

Governor Hickenlooper Signs “Anti-Brady” bill into law

Posted by on Jun 7, 2013 in PRESS RELEASES | 0 comments

DENVER, June 6, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — Governor Hickenlooper has signed the “Violence Against Pregnant Women Act” which could carry fines as little as $2,000 for drunk drivers who harm pregnant women, causing the deaths of their children. Heather Surovik, whose son Brady Surovik was killed in a drunk driving accident just days from delivery, stated, “This is one of the most deceptive bills to be passed in Colorado.” The bill offers minimal penalties for perpetrators of crimes against pregnant women, while repealing criminal abortion...
